Studies of Components (Protein, phosphatase and transaminase) of Human Amniotic Fluid

Abstract
The levels of the proteins (total protein, albumin, globulin and A/G ratio) in normal human amniotic fluid, and the activities of phosphatase (alkaline-P and acid-P) and transaminase (GOTand GPT) in the 54 cases during labor at term pregnancy were determined.
The following results were obtained:

1. The levels of total protein in human amniotic fluid were 824¡¾ 123. 1 mg/dl, albumin 469 ¡¾ 92. 2 mg/dl, globulin 355 60. 5 mg/dl and A/G ratio 1. 33 ¡¾ 0. 20.
The levels of total protein in human amniotic fluid were lower than one tenth of that of the normal human adult serum.
2. The activities of alkaline phosphatase in human amniotic fluid were 13.:4¡¾ 3. 23 unit/dl. and acid phosphatase 1. 05 ¡¾ 0.60unit/dl.
These were higher than that of norma lhuman adult serum.
